The role of an estate agent in Italy differs from that in many European countries.
According to Italian law, the ‘agente immobiliare’ (estate agent) can legally represent both parties and receive a fee/commission from the buyer, as well as the seller; there are no fixed rates, but a standard practice does exist.
If so requested, the agent can act solely for the buyer or the seller as ‘mandatario’, but this must be established at the outset.
In addition, we can undertake a formal search in this market, networking with other agents on the clients’s behalf, for an agreed fee.
